Having a plan, or rather a strategy, is half the success.
When it comes to High-Ticket Affiliate Marketing this is certainly true.
This industry is indeed full of opportunity, but it is also full of competition. Starting without knowing how to set up your business, without having precise goals and procedures can lead to announced failure.
In this post I want to list the main strategies you can explore to approach High-Ticket Affiliate Marketing, some definitely classic, some you will definitely not have heard of.
Niche site
A Niche Site can work well in case you plan to focus on one single high-ticket affiliate program. You can create a site that is extremely specific to the topic, product or service you are promoting, and focus all your efforts on promoting that product exclusively. With a Niche Site, if done well, you can expect to get to generating traffic sooner; conversely, you will have little room for expansion once you reach your full potential. This could be a limited problem because by promoting a High-Ticket product the gains could still be very high, hence very satisfying.
For example, in my industry, I have seen several Niche Sites dedicated exclusively to the broker eToro, and nothing more. Looking at their ranking on several strategic keywords, I can say that they are definitely getting good results.
Authority site
At the opposite end of the Niche Site, we have the Authority Site, a site that seeks to position itself as indeed an “authority” within a broader, more general niche on a topic. An Authority Site usually takes longer to generate traffic, but the financial results can be much greater, as you have many more opportunities to work with various affiliate programs.
This is the path I have taken, for example, with my main site InvestinGoal.com, an Authority Site in the world of forex, trading and online investing.
List post
Whether you choose Niche Site or Authority Site, there is one particular type of content that works great in Affiliate Marketing, including the High-Ticket version. I’m talking about list posts, or rankings, or round-ups, the names can be many.
These are those posts where you have to list the best products or services for a given topic. People who are looking for that kind of content are almost at the end of the Sales Funnel, they have done the necessary research, they are almost convinced that that product can solve their problems, and they are therefore looking for the best options among all those available. As I like to say, “they are already with their money in their hands, they just want to know from you where they should spend it.”
At InvestinGoal, we have devoted our greatest efforts to generating this content (e.g., this one to show you), which is why we have very high profitability per click.
Sales funnel
Trying to intercept users at the end of the Sales Funnel with list posts is a great strategy. However, it is obvious that the competition is sure to be fierce, given the effectiveness of the technique. At the opposite end of this strategy is the creation of the entire Sales Funnel.
It basically means trying to intercept potential buyers when they begin to realize they have a problem, or at any rate during a stage before the final purchase stage, which is usually the one most crowded with competition. A sales funnel is in fact composed of several stages, usually Awareness > Discovery > Evaluation >Intent > Purchase.
In addition, the Sales Funnel concept in High Ticket affiliate marketing can be applied both in the case of blogs for organic traffic and in the case of Funnels created for paid campaigns. There is in fact a very large proportion of affiliate marketers who work exclusively in this way, with paid campaigns, sales funnels, bridge pages and mailing lists.
Value ladder programs
There are not very many of them, but there are some affiliate programs that work on a Value Ladder principle. To summarize, that’s when all you have to do is convince a user to buy the seller’s least expensive product, sometimes even for free.
What you have done is get the user into the sales funnel of the seller. It will then be in charge of the whole conversion process, all the way down towards also high-ticket products, and sales will still be assigned to you as an affiliate. Your job then becomes getting as many people as possible into the Sales Funnel, or ladder, of the seller.
This is the case, for example, with eToro. You can get users to try the service simply by having a demo account, without putting in a penny, and registering in minutes. At that point it will be eToro that will try by all means to convert those users, convince them to deposit real money, and over time lead them to those products that generate more revenue for them, and thus increase the chance of generating the commission for you.
Become an influencer
Social media can definitely be an effective strategy for promoting High-Ticket affiliate products. But not any Social Media strategy.
What is really effective is, to make the concept as clear as possible, to become an influencer. What it really means is to become the “living” version of an authority site.
Your audience must perceive you as a trusted and authoritative source of information, and your content must be truly useful. That way, when you occasionally make promotions to affiliate products, your followers will be much more likely to follow your advice.
I recently saw a famous Italian influencer in finance, Marcello Ascani, use Instagram Stories to convince his followers to sign up through his affiliate link to Tinaba, a roboadvisor app, in exchange for a promise to offer all new users a burrito served directly from him. The numbers from this campaign spoke volumes about the effectiveness of this mini-strategy.
YouTube Channel
YouTube can work well with High-Ticket affiliate marketing used as the only traffic channel.
However, in my opinion (according also to the influential producers of Income School – Project24), a YouTube channel can work YouTube can work well with High-Ticket affiliate marketing used as the only traffic channel.
However, in my opinion (according also to the influential producers of Income School – Project24), a YouTube channel can work even better when created to complement a website (niche site or authority).
YouTube is an incredible source of traffic for those with the desire to create really useful videos. Think about product reviews, for example. A lot of people consume only video content, and they flatly refuse to read even the nicest of blogs. They just want to watch videos, and with YouTube you can reach these and many more users. even better when created to complement a website (niche site or authority).
Parasite SEO
I thought I would include this “unorthodox” strategy to show you how Affiliate Marketing can be done in an alternative way.
Parasite SEO means leveraging the authority of other sites to publish content that you can personally benefit from, such as by inserting affiliate links to your own high-ticket products.
Famous sites for Parasite SEO are for example Medium and Linkedin Articles (which accept affiliate links, as opposed to Quora for example).
But then there are many other Media Sites in particular, which accept your content with affiliate links against payment, of course, which in some cases can become onerous.
In a video Matt Digitty showed how an affiliate had reached the first page of Google for the super-keyword “best far burner” using the sites https://www.mysanantonio.com/, https://www.sfgate.com/ and https://theislandnow.com/, which are websites on which precisely to implement a Parasite SEO strategy.
Brand bidding
Although it is a bit of a “myth,” I think brand bidding should still be mentioned. It is a paid advertising strategy that you can use almost exclusively on Microsoft Ads (not Google Ads).
Basically, what you do is target those keywords that contain the dry name of the brand you are sponsoring. Many people when they are at the end of the Sales Funnel, i.e., when they have done all their research and are ready to buy the product they have chosen, are in fact searching the search engine for the specific brand name of the product, to buy it directly from the site. You will try to make your ad appear at that time and “camouflage” it as if it were written by the brand itself, and direct the user directly to the seller’s page through your affiliate link (direct linking). As you can imagine, this type of campaign has a very high conversion rate.
But wait to declare victory, there are obviously several problems: very few brands allow this type of campaign; you can only do it on Microsoft Ads where traffic volumes are low; keywords cost a lot per click.
Leverage the last trends
This is more advice than a strategy. The internet world continues to churn out new trends, new traffic channels, new formats every month. Think for example of the advent of Tik Tok, which then also gave birth to Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and the like.
The first ones who jumped on this trend certainly got a lot of traffic and very quickly. In fact, social networks tend to promote early adopters a lot.
Always staying “in the trenches” looking for these trends and starting to use them right away can definitely give you opportunities for example to direct users to pages on your blog where your High-Ticket affiliate links are present.
